The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Ashland Oregon will be conducting same gender weddings underscoring their belief for the need of separation of church and state.
“We, as UCC ministers, believe the separation of church and
state is good for the church and for the state”
While the minsiters of the UCC Church will continue to celebrate the sacrament of marriage for all couples who wish to have thier spiritual union belssed by the church, the ministers will not be signing marriage licenses for any couple being married in thier church until they are legally able to sign marriage licenses for everyone.
“At First Congregational United Church of
Christ in Ashland we will no longer sign marriage licenses for any
one until we are able to sign marriage licenses for everyone.”

Lynn Howe has courageously stepped forward to challenge Sal Esquivel for the State Representative seat in House District 6.
The Howe Campaign will have its official Coming Out Party to celebrate the opening of her Campaign Headquarters within the Jackson County Democratic offices.
We need lots of dedicated Democrats to participate. So, come on down to 40 South Central, Medford and show your support at these two events:
Press Conference at 1:00 PM on Wednesday July 16th. Lynn will be giving prepared remarks to the media. Wear your Howe T shirts and show Jackson County that Lynn has formidable support.
Then come back for festivities, food and wine at the Open House at 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Meet Lynn and members of her Campaign Team. Learn what YOU can do to help Lynn turn Jackson County Blue, plus enjoy fun and social time with your fellow Democrats.
(Note: Rep. Esquivel was one of the Chief Petitioners of the referendums to repeal the Oregon Family Fairness Act and Oregon Equality Act)
